SO2 cloud first observed at 1056 local time on May 8; the eruption began around 0548 local time. Some SO2 may be sourced from Nyiragongo, which is also currently active. There was a data gap over the region on May 9. AIRS images of this eruption are also available. |

SO2 cloud first detected at 1138 local time on Jul 26. Some SO2 may be sourced from Nyiragongo. A MODIS image of the July 26 cloud can be seen on the NASA Earth Observatory website. EP TOMS unfortunately entered safe hold mode on August 2, prematurely curtailing tracking of this eruption. No further SO2 was detected when data collection resumed on August 13. |
